Canadian Evaluation Society - Empowerment Evaluation Workshop

The Canadian Evaluation Society

The Canadian Evaluation Society invited Dr. David Fetterman to conduct an empowerment evaluation workshop.  He was also invited to present a talk about the approach and sign his latest book titled, Empowerment Evaluation in the Digital Villages:  Hewlett-Packard's $15 Million Race Toward Social Justice (Stanford University Press).

Welcome to the conference.

Prioritizing with dots (since you can not evaluate everything).

Wait.  There is another Dr. Fetterman present.  That is Dr. Fetterman's mother. She participated in the empowerment evaluation workshop as well.

After prioritizing the most critical features of the conference to evaluate, we rated the key activities on a 1 (low) to 10 (high) scale.  It provided a generative basis for conversation and dialogue about what worked and did not work at the conference.

We created plans for the future based on our mission and taking stock steps.
We concluded with a few technological tools of the trade.

The workshop was well received.

A quotation from one of the participants:  "The workshop was excellent! David Fetterman has really inspired me to use Empowerment Evaluation in my work."

Organizer comment:  "I had the opportunity to hear directly from several of your workshop participants who conveyed how much they benefited from participating in your workshop. Your mom’s participation was also greatly enjoyed."

A wonderful experience to be with my son and participate in this valuable work!!
It was great to have you there mom. They really appreciated your experience and wisdom - as a grant writer, professor, and general academic resource (with real practical experience). Glad you had a good time.
